Writing an Essay On Diversity Topics
One of the most difficult aspects of preparing for your medical school admissions essays is deciding on diversity essay topics. Diversity in general, and diversity in health care in particular, can seem like a difficult topic to discuss. However, by learning about and discussing specific experiences of minority groups that are currently represented in medical facilities, you will be able to write an essay that focuses on what you are passionate about.
It is quite common that a majority of students who apply to medical school from underrepresented groups will choose to focus their essay topics on that focus. The idea is to build an essay around a passion, interest, or responsibility. For example, if you have experience dealing with people who are non-white or who suffer from diseases that are not covered by insurance, then you can highlight this experience. On the other hand, if you know a lot about the health care system in Africa, you may want to include a personal account of your experiences there.
